The Spring Mountain Vineyard Tasting Room Supervisor is responsible for managing all day to day operations in the tasting room. This includes building brand awareness and exceeding guest expectations by working with the staff and other departments to enhance sales, service, and visitor experience. The Tasting Room Supervisor is also responsible for supporting the achievement of revenue and wine club growth goals while managing staff and operating expenses. Displays proactive leadership in all aspects of Tasting Room operations and works to develop a team that passionately promotes Spring Mountain Vineyard and creates a memorable experience for every guest both on and off property.

Job Responsibilities:

¥ Create and provide a welcoming and exceptional experience for all visitors to the Tasting Room/Winery.
¥ Assists DTC Director preparing for each day and assigning tours/tastings for guests.
¥ Promote a positive and respectful work environment for the tasting room staff. Leading by example will help develop camaraderie and create the correct Spring Mountain Vineyard culture.
¥ Manage Tasting Room activities including sales reports, staff schedules, inventory, wine supply orders, merchandise, glassware and all tools needed to provide a successful tasting experience.
¥ Carry out duties associated with opening and closing of the Tasting Room and ensure all full-time, part-time and temporary staff are properly trained on the opening and closing procedures.
¥ Support and provide guidance for required training of staff and ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and governmental regulations. 
¥ Supervise tasks that include but are not limited to:
- Greet visitors and host tastings.
- Create décor & display to enhance image of the facility.
- Immediate and respectful positive and constructive feedback of employee performance.
¥ Support and monitor the Tasting Room/Retail Sales areas that will achieve yearly budget projections. Make recommendations for increasing sales and develop unique opportunities to increase referrals and wine club retention.
¥ POS system and Office application skills with the ability to train staff on the systems.
¥ Assist in the maintenance of monthly and annual inventories of all wine and non-wine items.
¥ Monitor wine/non-wine inventories and general maintenance of the Tasting Room/Retail Sales premises.
¥ Educate all staff members to a level of proficiency on our wine and property history.
¥ Understand and teach the Sales processes to increase club memberships and sales.
¥ Evaluates effectiveness of programs by performing periodic reviews and auditing customer feedback. Implement changes as needed to reach plan and objectives.
¥ Coordinate special assignments, projects, reporting as required and reports as requested.
¥ Assist with Hospitality at special events as required.

Working Conditions:

¥ Regular working schedule to include weekends and holidays.
¥ Work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of detail orientation.
¥ Flexible hours during peak seasons and/or special events.
¥ Moderate to heavy physical work, moving wine cases and retail supplies, setting up for special events. Work site may be any one of Spring Mountain Vineyard venues.
¥ Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
¥ Carry case(s) of wine to customer’s vehicle.
¥ Washing/buffing wine glasses and dishes to keep a clean work environment.
¥ Ability to lift at least 45 pounds repeatedly (case of wine).

Requirements:

¥ Education: High School or equivalent
¥ Experience: Three or more years of winery, hospitality or management experience.
¥ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
¥ Strong analytical, math skills and proficiency using technology.
(Computer skills: Microsoft Office and point-of-sale applications).
¥ Excellent organizational skills and the ability to execute projects with minimal supervision.
¥ Passion for wine and interest in Spring Mountain Vineyard history and portfolio.
¥ Relaxed, friendly and professional demeanor.
¥ Must be a team player and maintain a positive disposition.
¥ Able to interact effectively with staff, other departments within the winery as well as agencies/vendors/customers
