Raymond Vineyards, Napa Valley, is recruiting for a Harvest Lab Technician to assist during the 2017 crush. Position is anticipated to begin mid-August, continuing until November 1st or beyond.
Responsibilities will be varied, and may include performing lab analyses, maintaining lab equipment, assisting winemaking team in all aspects of fine winemaking, database entry, assisting on crush pad and press area, and providing additional support to winemaking staff as required. This position will report directly to the assistant winemaker, but may interface with all of the Raymond winemaking and cellar staff. This person will follow sound analytical practices while generating data, including: appropriate sampling, standardization, instrument calibration, and cleanliness.
Laboratory experience is required, either academic or professional. Math and chemistry background is a plus. The applicant needs to have strong organizational skills, to be computer literate and comfortable with databases, also must be able to work with a team.
This position requires moderate physical activity, ability to lift up to 40 lbs., work on elevated walkways, tolerate exposure to standard winemaking materials, and work in changing environments. Flexible schedule, with seasonal weekends and/or overtime hours.
