Cellar/Barrel Workers (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Carneros Vintners is seeking energetic and skilled cellar and barrel workers to join our team. This position will report to the Cellar Master.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
-Responsible for the general sanitation, cleaning and sterilizing of all winery equipment and facilities, including tanks and pipelines.
-Responsible for racking and pumping of juice and wine; moving hoses and equipment.
-Responsible for forklift operation and moving barrels.
-Responsible for tank and power washing.
-Responsible for tank gauging.
-Responsible for organizing and cleaning cellar chemical storage area.
-Responsible for following and observing all safe cellar practices.
-Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Background and experience:
-Ability to work all shifts as needed plus overtime if requested.
-Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
-Ability to comprehend and carry out oral and written instructions.
-Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and procedures, and be able to read cellar work orders, count barrels, records times and dates.
-Ability to communicate effectively with good skills in reading, writing and basic math.
-Must be reliable, punctual and have a good work ethic.
-Prior knowledge of winery operations and barrel work experience a plus.

Physical demands:
-This position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop and kneel.
-Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
