POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, production and communication of brand marketing programs for the company. Works closely with Director of Marketing, Sales and Creative Services providing brand marketing support across a range of functional disciplines: strategic and tactical brand planning, production, logistics, budget management, brand performance analysis (shipments, depletions, channels of distribution), event management, and public relations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

BRAND MANAGEMENT

  • Works with the Director of Marketing to develop new products and corresponding brand plans/strategy and promotions to improve market penetration and meet corporate objectives across all product categories (wine, spirits, natural snacks and water).
  • Manages the development and implementation of national and regional marketing programs. Delivers a review and analysis of all programs and activities upon completion.
  • Responsible to ensure maintenance of consistent corporate image throughout all marketing and promotional materials and product lines.
  • Assists in the development, maintenance, and tracking of performance vs. budget. Works with Sales and Finance to track and understand Marketing & POS costs and local/regional budget and actual expense allocations.
  • Monitors and analyzes business data, tracking shipments, depletions, and store-level sales.
  • Assists in copy development of back labels, website content and all other selling/POS materials.
  • TRADE MARKETING

  • Ensures cohesive brand messaging through all marketing collateral.
  • Coordinate with Creative on the development of brand and program collateral and assets in a timely manner ie. POS, presentation decks.
  • Lead distribution and communication of all support materials.
  • Manages auditing and communicating required updates to GSL, websites and trade site content in conjunction with Creative Services and Marketing Assistant.
  • SALES SUPPORT

  • Liaison for Sales to manage, create and/or coordinate requests for DSS new POS, artwork, advertisements, PowerPoint presentations support, ad hoc sell sheets, fact sheets etc.
  • Is an active supporter of pouring at consumer and/or trade tasting opportunities for our Brands.
  • Assists with the communication and support of new product launches to teams and trade partners.
  • MEDIA: PUBLIC RELATIONS & ADVERTISING

  • Works with Director of Marketing to coordinate all media and public relations activities, including acting as a one of the primary contacts for internal communications with Sales.
  • Manages creation, production and distribution of press releases.
  • Communicates with Sales and Creative Services to plan corporate advertising including print, outdoor and/or radio.
  • GENERAL

  • Aware of TTB requirements, primarily for labels.
  • Works successfully as part of a team and is responsible for developing and then maintaining strong working relationships with coworkers.
  • Attends staff meetings and training as required.
  • Performs general office tasks as required.
  • Performs special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.
  • Mentors and manages Marketing Assistant.
  • Maintains compliance with all DSS policies, procedures and requirements as well as all state and federal laws.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Business or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of increasingly responsible wine brand marketing management experience with experience in creative design for promotional, packaging and merchandising materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, preferably direct experience with public relations.
  • Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Strong project management and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organization skills, multi-tasking, and project management skills required, including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities essential.
  • Works cooperatively with a team and across departments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
  • Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
  • Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
  • Requires ability to travel to various geographic locations and some overnight stays.
  • Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under DSS’s insurance policy.
  • Position requires travel.
  • ccasional weekends for special events.
