Tasting Room Dynamo (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Part Time

  Buttonwood Farm Winery

  Solvang, California

Job Description:

We’re looking for a go-getter to assist our Tasting Room/Wine Club manager in a variety of duties and projects. Some of the routine work items will include shipping, tasting room work, data entry, and contacting customers. Some of the less regular, but fantastically cool items this job will require include special events and brainstorming ways to create world peace.

We want someone looking for a bit more responsibility than a standard tasting room position - someone who is fun, nice, responsible, an ace with customer service, and proficient on the computer and interwebs. You’ll be working Sundays, some holidays, two days during the week, and hopefully filling in when needed. You’ll also be the acting as manager on duty on Sundays. Sound like the perfect fit for you? We hope so! See below for more details on the position…

What you’ll be doing:

- We want sales (we’re a business, after all)

 *Wine sales

 *Merchandise sales

 *Wine Club sign ups

- Create an outstanding experience for each guest that visits.

- Inventory monitoring, restocking, and ordering for merchandise, shipping supplies, etc. In general, making sure we have the goods available and visible for our customers to purchase!

- Tidy the tasting room and shipping room as needed.

- Resolve any issues, concerns, requests from customers in an informative and friendly way. Reach out to the Tasting Room manager / management team for assistance when needed.

- Have an amazing time and represent Buttonwood in a fun and professional manner at outside tastings and events as requested by the Tasting Room manager.

- Be willing and able to perform other duties as assigned.

- Ship our direct-to-consumer and wholesale orders as well as maintain shipping records.

- You must be able to lift 40 pounds (you work out!)

What we require:

- That you can solve problems. You hear the problem. You look, research, ask for answers. You work with coworkers and customers to get the problem solved in a timely and correct way.

- You can talk! This job is a lot of interaction – with customers in person, over the phone, and via email; as well as with coworkers, farm staff, etc. We want to be sure you can communicate in a persuasive and kind manner in both positive and negative situations.

- You like quality. You’re constantly looking at ways to improve things. You pride yourself on accuracy and thoroughness.

- You’ve got good judgment. You’re willing to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, and you can make timely decisions.

- You’re organized. Your job will have many hats, and we want someone who not only can wear them – but rocks them all. You can prioritize and plan your work, you use time efficiently, and you can make plans form into reality.

- Safely first. You observe safety and security procedures, and you use equipment and materials in the way they were intended, no funny business (except for jokes, jokes are okay).

Sound like the job for you? Please send your resume and cover letter to Allyson Noland, Tasting Room & Wine Club Manager at Allyson (at) ButtonwoodWinery (dot) com. Please no phone calls.

Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you!
