Chain Division Mechandiser (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Chain Division Merchandiser reports to the Chain Division Manager. The Chain Division Merchandiser is primarily responsible for transferring product from a retailer’s receiving and back stock area to the retail shelves. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
•  Merchandiser must follow daily schedule and ensure all accounts listed are visited and merchandised per each retailer’s standards.
•  Merchandiser should check with each account’s Chain Division Sales Representative for any special requests and/or instructions (i.e. displays, end caps, etc.)
•  Be attentive to all products and placements. Merchandiser should walk the aisles checking shelves and make sure that all products are faced forward, POS is hung, end caps are properly displayed, and if the store has enough inventory of all products. Any exceptions are to be reported to Chain Division Sales Representative and/or Chain Division Management or Support Team.
•  All shelves must be set properly and per each account’s planogram.
•  Merchandiser must be attentive and respectful to the needs of each account. In addition to merchandising the products sent to the store that day. Merchandiser must check back stock and check in with the department buyer or representative prior to leaving the account to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
•  Account Buyers should not be contacted about merchandising and/or product deliveries. It is the Merchandiser’s responsibility to ensure each account on his/her daily schedule is serviced regardless of product delivery time.
•  Each account should be left in pristine condition. Back stock and boxes should never be left out on the floor for others to handle. Empty boxes should be disposed of in the designated area per each account’s procedures. All bottles are to be dust free and vintages will be rotated on the shelves when necessary. Point of Sale materials including bottle-neckers and shelf-talkers should be displayed and placed neatly and straight.
•  Do not leave an account un-serviced under any circumstances. All displays or items must be placed in a neat and organized manner according to Winebow standards. If delivery has not arrived, adjust schedule accordingly to ensure the account will be serviced by end of day.
•  Merchandiser must submit daily recap report to Division Manager. Report must be comprehensive with complete detailing of time spent in accounts including drive time. The information must be accurate and reported on a daily basis to Chain Division Manager without exception.

Education
•  Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience
•  Wine and/or Spirits industry experience preferred.
Skills
•  Strong organizational and time management skills required. Must be able to plan daily
routes in an effective manner.
•  Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
•  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

Other Requirements
•  Some night and weekend work required.
•  Must Have a Valid Driver’s License
•  Must have proof of insurance
•  Must have dependable transportation with ability to commute to anywhere in Northern IL
on a daily basis.
•  Must be flexible with daily duties and available to travel to remote locations in Chicagoland
with little notice.
•  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
