About Us
Big Basin Vineyards is dedicated to handcrafting wines which authentically reveal the ocean-influenced, mountain vineyards that inspire them. We are internationally known for our single vineyard Pinot Noirs, Syrahs and Rhone blends. Our winery and the vineyards we work with are located in some of the most remote, pristine and breath-taking locations in the Santa Cruz and Gabilan Mountain Ranges. We farm organically and practice minimal-intervention winemaking with the goal of producing wines that transparently and authentically express site and variety.
Producing on average only 5,000 cases per year, most of our wine is sold through our Mailing List, Wine Club and Tasting Room or can be found at top restaurants and bottle shops across the US, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Japan and Switzerland.

About You
We are searching for a diamond in the rough: someone who has an infectious enthusiasm for wine to join our small, like minded PART TIME team in our Saratoga Tasting Room. A background or career in sales is very advantageous. The core responsibility in our Tasting Room is to create a comfortable, high level service experience that seamlessly result in wine sales and wine club sign ups. We are not a wine bar with small food plates, live music and nick-knacks, but a wine education oriented tasting room. Our club members and repeat customers are fantastic people, we want you to become a key part of a guest’s Big Basin experience.
While rich knowledge of ‘small unknown wine regions’ of the world is cool, we’re most interested in those who are very tuned into California Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rhone producers; and their Old World counterparts. Having knowledge of what’s happening in California wine today is very important to our story, as we are members of In Pursuit of Balance. Wines with an honest sense of place and made with minimal intervention excite us the most, and represent our core values.
The enjoyment of interesting wines and foods, with just as quality company, are one of your ideas of a great time.
Wine isn’t made or sold sitting down. This is an on your feet job that requires the ability to carry 45lbs (a case of wine) to a customer’s car and provide attentive service. We’re located in Silicon Valley, some technology is needed to capture sales (we’re Mac based).
Working on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays come with the territory. (Sometimes we need week day help, too, as well at the winery when we have special events). We ask for a 2-3 day commitment per month.
