Production Artist (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

We are seeking a PRODUCTION ARTIST, who, under the direction of the Creative Services Manager will be an integral part of AWDirect’s marketing team (located in Santa Rosa, California). This team member will be contributing to the production of all dry goods, print collateral and website assets. Our ideal candidate has strong technical and organizational skills, as this is a production-oriented position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Label & packaging production management – work closely with outside vendors on the production of labels, printed cartons, and capsules.
• Attend press checks for packaging print.
• Collaborate with Creative Services Manager to execute timing and resources for projects to complete on time and on budget.
• Work closely with Creative Services Manager to apply company branding and guidelines to all applicable graphics.
• Prepare limited graphic production files for various types of commercial printing.
• Save print ready and supporting design files in DropBox & content management system.
• Lead the proofing process following provided guidelines.
• Manage spec sheet process.
• Contribute to sales presentation materials, including Photoshopped bottle images.
• Asset production for social media campaigns utilizing Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram.
• Support production of DTC digital communications and marketing campaigns.
• Update and maintain physical label / color standard files.
• Evaluate market research for trends and opportunities.
• Create sample design comps for internal design review.
• Act as backup for marketing team members as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Professional Certification or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine & Applied Arts, Communication Arts or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Two (2) – four (4) + years of print production experience is required. Wine & Spirits industry experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to perform wine tasting and pouring duties.
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office.
• Experience with email marketing databases a plus (such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
• Must be highly organized with attention to detail.
• Must be computer literate with the ability to use various word processing, presentation-building, database and spreadsheet software proficiently.
• Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills.
• Must be detailed-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess good project management skills.
• Strong business and analytical skills.
