Sanford Winery’s urban Tasting Room, located in downtown Santa Barbara, is seeking exceptional candidates for Tasting Room Associate positions. Our tasting room features several premium tasting offerings including standard tastings, vertical tastings, events, and wine and food pairings in a friendly and professional setting. Tasting Room associates promote Sanford Winery and sell wines & club memberships through education and exceptional customer service.
Previous wine knowledge or industry experience is helpful but not necessary, as we provide product training. Previous customer service and/or sales experience is desirable, catering or events experience a plus.
Primary Duties:
• Customer Service and Sales
• Meets team sales goals
• Provide a personalized wine buying experience for guests
• Promotes wine club enrollment
• Communicates effectively with all staff members and management
• Conduct premium tasting experiences as needed
Operations:
• Operate POS system, ring in sales, handle cash quickly and accurately
• Precisely process shipping orders and sales orders
• Help keep tasting room clean
Education:
• Maintain and expand wine knowledge
• Participate in required monthly staff trainings
• Develop sales skills through education and training
• Understand and practice responsible hospitality, including legal parameters and liabilities for the winery and individuals serving alcohol
Requirements:
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for 6-7 hours a day
• Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays, including holidays
