DESCRIPTION:
Rising Star Wine Group, inc. is a wholesale wine distributor specializing in limited production boutique wines made by family-owned wineries primarily from single vineyards in optimal appellations, especially in California and also France. Wineries represented are fully pre-cherry-picked for consistent commitment to quality and sale-ability. In our 13th year, we continue to grow, and enjoy very little turnover among our sales team.
We are looking to further strengthen our presence in the Bay Area. We will add one additional independent contractor sales representative in San Francisco, potentially also including East Bay accounts. Our positions are especially well-suited for those wishing to add a primarily California book to complement an import or other non-California book. Experienced sales representatives are encouraged to apply, especially those with a strong understanding of both sales and wine.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
An existing base of accounts, with knowledge of wine bars, restaurants and retailers in your territory, along with ongoing contacts and personal relationships
Good at sales, verbal presentations and communication
Skilled with starting and building relationships
Developed knowledge of wine and of California appellations and styles
Outgoing, non-aggressive personality
Self-motivated and driven to maintain and develop a client base and sales.
Former wine buyer for restaurant, retail or wine bar
REQUIREMENTS
Established relationships with wine-buyers in San Francisco and/or East Bay
Wine knowledge
Sales ability
Good communications skills
Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, internet, and own a cell phone
Ability to lift 40 lb case of wine
Must own reliable vehicle, clean driving record and be insured
Sales Commission PLUS monthly Stipend and Expense Allowance (towards health insurance, car and phone expense, contingent upon commitment level), Incentives for achieving monthly sales goals, potential Annual Bonus. Paid twice a month.
