You will lead the effort by helping develop cocktail menus, providing educational awareness and developing programs for some of the most premium restaurants and bars in the country. Campari America is hiring an On Premise Key Account Representative in Washington, DC to help lead this initiative.

The On Premise Key Account Representative is responsible for driving volume growth, awareness and most importantly distribution and visibility across a set of assigned key brands and accounts.  Focus is on direct key account management relationship building and selling (90% of the time) supplemented by Distributor activity coordination (10% of the time).

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Account Management:

  • Targets top 75-100 on-premise key accounts and drives distribution and usage of select Campari brands.

  • Develops direct relationships with those key accounts.

  • Looks for opportunities to expand Campari brand visibility via menu lists, drink features and special events within the assigned account list/market.

  • Develops programs for assigned key accounts to achieve brand presence via menu listing, features and back bar placements and increased profitable growth.

  • Follows-up to ensure activations are executed as planned.

  • General reporting of account opportunities, programs and KPI’s required

  • Education is a focus of our brands to the accounts and consumers where applicable to gain awareness.

  • Use information to aid sell in.

  • Coordinate with local Campari and Distributor management as needed to ensure maximum efficiency (eliminate redundancy)

  • Conducts wait staff training and develops incentive programs on a regular basis to insure that all brands are on the forefront of the staff’s mind within targeted establishments.

Brand Building

  • Works in conjunction with Campari's Marketing and Trade Marketing Departments to assist with the planning and execution of creative, local events that increase the presence and visibility of all brands within the target market.

  • Provides input to the National On Premise Management team to support planning and development of the tactical budgets for the upcoming year.

  • Offer and schedule tasting events, menu and cocktail creation in assigned key accounts.

  • Monitor and report competitive supplier or other volume increasing activity in assigned key accounts as a means to improve future Campari brand promotion/strategy in on-premise channel and key accounts.

  • Work within guidelines defined by Campari PR team to increase brand awareness through social media and social networking sites.

  • Work with distributor mixologists on market and brand specific cocktails that drive usage and visibility

Distributor Management

  • Coordinate the execution of orders and agreed to programs in assigned key accounts following the blueprint developed by Campari Field Sales management and in conjunction with distributor sales teams, with Distributor on-premise teams and Campari Field Sales Management

  • Work with key on-premise sales people from distributor network to drive distribution, awareness and trial for priority brands in assigned key accounts (coordinated with local Campari Field sales team)

  • Conduct periodic meetings with key distributor on-premise sales teams to educate and inform about Campari programs and initiatives.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION;

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required-preferably in Business Administration.

Experience:

  • One - three years’ experience in on-premise alcoholic beverage sales.

  • Experience working in a 3 tier distribution market preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Sound understanding of in market selling skills in the on premise channel

  • Ability to develop creative brand building programs that drive volume and share growth in key accounts.

  • Strong account management and follow-up skills

  • Business financials and experience in managing to a budget.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key customers & stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with product sales – ability to develop compelling selling stories to grow distribution and volume sales

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and experience in working with a multi-brand portfolio.

  • Results oriented; thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
