The San Francisco Wine Center Marketing Specialist is responsible for designing, creating, and delivering marketing programs to support the growth and expansion of the wine businesses, with special focus on generating new business opportunities in local, national and international markets, generating leads, and driving revenue growth.
- Conduct market analysis to assess competitive product features and functionality, market share and marketing strategies
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing campaigns (traditional and online) to attract new wine collectors and wine customers
- Develop marketing and communication materials for Wine Storage, Wine Sales, Wine Classes and Wine Events, both nationally and internationally
- Responsible for developing and establishing relationships with local and international wineries, wine auctions houses and wine importers
- Measure the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies
- Lead market research related to Wine Collector segments. Identify target market segment needs and value propositions.
- Develop positive rapport with potential new members and represent the San Francisco Wine Center to the public
- Research and track industry, client, and competitor news and information
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience and training
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of marketing experience mandatory
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Customer service driven with focus on customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning
- Experience in or knowledge of the fine and rare wine segment
- Knowledge of consumer segmentation, database marketing and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to a large and diverse audience
- Strong organizational, planning, project management and problem resolution skills
- Detail oriented and results focused
- Creative ability to “think outside the box" and take ownership of projects and events
- Fluent or conversational in at least two of the following languages: Spanish, German, Italian and French
- Familiarity with current social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
