The Regional Sales Manager, California develops, manages and maintains business relationships with Phillips Distilling distributors within the state of California; to meet or exceed all qualitative and quantitative regional and business objectives.
Requirements Essential Duties
Meet or exceed net sales goals and all annual company objectives.
Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with key distributors and trade professionals in all markets.
Execute and manage effective pricing, promotional and incentive programs and calendars to ensure on and off-premise distribution and merchandising goals are achieved.
Conduct quarterly business review/planning meetings with distributors; including annual survey with distributor and Phillips senior management.
Utilize company systems, including expense reports, vacation requests, VIP Analytics, etc.
Conduct creative and informative general sales meetings and select team meetings; responsible to educate distributor sales managers, sales representatives and key on and off-premise staff of PDC brands and promotions.
Ensure distributors maintain adequate inventories of product and point-of-sale materials to fulfill all sales programs.
Has strong knowledge of CA chains, demonstrated by fully understanding how each individual chain operates and conducts business to meet business goals.
Has the ability to drive Chain Planners, ADs, and promotional execution through our distributor partners
Accurately develops and quantifies a pricing strategy for Phillips products within CA chains.
Effectively engage and manage key, local retail, on-premise accounts and national and regional chains based within the region, as directed by Division Manager.
Prepare and present control state listing applications, as warranted.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of all components of cost-of-goods, FOB, distributor and retail pricing and manage all promotional, travel and entertainment budgets to ensure that company is maximizing profitability.
Initiate recap letters following all “work-with(s)” and meetings with distributor personnel, ensuring adequate and timely follow-up as required.
Plan and submit monthly calendar to Division Director.

Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ sales management experience in the distilled spirits industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must reside within the state of California.
Must be highly energetic, creative, and self-motivated; with ability to work independently to meet and/or exceed business goals and objectives.
Ability to effectively prepare and manage a budget; prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.
Excellent verbal and written communications; exceptional interpersonal and collaborative skills; ability to work with “team first” approach.
Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficient computer skills including E-Mail, Spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
Up to 50% travel within assigned geographic area, occasional evening and weekend work attending events as required.
Valid driver’s license.
