Cellar Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Opportunity to work with and learn from over 100 years of combined experience in the California wine business. Family owned & independent retailer specializing exclusively in small-production California wines/wineries since 1988. Open Mon-Sat 10am-6pm. Work 5 days per week. Closed on major holidays. Flexible scheduling. Casual environment. Minimum 1 year commitment. Salaried with 16 days PTO. No previous experience in the wine industry necessary.

·     Arrive in time to open the shop at 10am

·      Close the shop at 6pm

·      Maintain and organize cellar & freight room

·      Receive deliveries

·      Pack orders and club shipments

·      Build shipping materials

·      Break down empty boxes

·      Make freight tags

·      Make occasional local deliveries

·      Maintain the showroom shelves

·      Keep tabs on supplies inventory for reorder

·      Wine sales in showroom

·      Tasting wines and contributing notes/opinions

·      Answer phones and take orders

·      Assist with quarterly inventory

·      Absorb wine knowledge quickly / become California wine specialist
