Gianni Buonomo Vintners is San Diego’s only fully-functional beach winery and tasting room. Our brand-new “urban winery” is located just steps from the Pacific surf in the heart of Ocean Beach. Gianni Buonomo Vintners sources super-premium grapes from both Washington state and El Dorado County CA and brings them to the beach to vinify, barrel age, blend, bottle and serve a line-up of truly exceptional wines.

The Sales Manager (SM) partners with the Managing Director in the development and execution of the company’s strategic plan. The SM’s role is to ensure superior financial performance throughout the enterprise and provide world-class customer experience.
The SD provides leadership and accountability for all Gianni Buonomo wine and merchandise sales. This includes the growth and management of the wine club and all direct to consumer (DtC) sales. The SM will also manage the tasting room and all retail transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Vision, Strategy & Planning
· The SD will establish a clear vision of the winery’s financial goals with the Managing Director
· Create and develop strategies to attain the financial goals of the wine club, DtC sales program and tasting room/retail sales
Operations, Finance
· Manage P&L and company performance reporting to Managing Partner
· Prepare and maintain budgets and review payables with Accountant
· Develop and execute quarterly and annual sales plans and forecasts
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
· Develop CRM strategy and use CRM programs to manage and improve customer performance
· Create and execute segmented outreach campaigns and customer loyalty programs
Wine Club
· Manage wine club growth and innovation while reducing club attrition
· Manage wine club communication, sales and order fulfillment
Tasting Room/ Retail Sales
· Manage the day to day operations of the tasting room
· Maintain monthly financial reports on pertinent retail sales channel metrics (visits, sales, product mix, wine club enrollment, etc.)
· Create, oversee and execute budgets & forecasts, including dollar sales of wine, merchandise, event & tasting fees
· Prepare and submit weekly inventory reports
· Train and manage tasting room staff assuring a world-class customer experience
Qualifications
· Passionate about all things wine related
· Superior sensory ability to identify varietal characteristics and wine faults
· Proven team leader with a passion to educate employees and customers
· Managerial experience hiring, training, supervising and scheduling employees
· Fluency using Word, Excel, Outlook and POS systems
· Fluent command of English
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to lift and carry up 40 to 50 lbs
· Pass criminal background check
Ideal Candidate Will Have
· Strong financial background
· Bachelors Degree in Business/Finance with 3 years experience in retail management
· Minimum 3 years experience retail sales preferably in the wine industry
