St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery is looking for talented people to host winery visitors, share our wines and our stories, and sell our wines and Wine Clubs. In this exciting position, you will provide visitors with an educational and enjoyable wine tasting experience while perpetuating the highest standards of courtesy and hospitality. We have full and part time positions available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Educate visitors on St. Supéry wines and engage them in a manner that will earn their repeat business, recommendations to friends and loyalty
• Conduct wine tastings and / or tours of the facility in a positive and enjoyable manner
• Sell wine and acquire new Wine Club members
• Execute sales promotions and marketing campaigns as directed
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
• Strong customer service experience
• Strong sales experience and ability to sell various wine club memberships and expand the customer database by signing up visitors to be on our mailing list for future promotions
• General wine knowledge and familiarity with St. Supéry wines; must be able to recite information on all of our current releases
• Able to communicate the St. Supéry stories (history; vineyards; winery, winemaking; wines; etc.)
• Knowledge and ability to use cash register system (AMS) to process sales and update records
• Hospitality or Sales experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to make food pairing suggestions to promote sales based on knowledge of St. Supéry wines
• Able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
• Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner
• Good communication skills
• Must be available to work scheduled days and have flexibility to work different schedules or hours as the business demands
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum age of 21 to pour wine.
• Minimum 2 years in a hospitality or sales position.
• Must have a valid California driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Knowledge of winemaking processes and varietals a plus.
• Sales experience with a premium brand preferred.
