Director of Operations (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Position Description:

• The Director of Operations will inherit a fine tuned, highly effective & efficient machine.
• Global expansion and growth plans dictates innovative thinking for us to move forward at that same high level of performance.
• This Director must be a proven change agent, one that can conceptualize plans that fit the whole organizations goals and needs. A disruptor who anticipates the unintended consequences of that change and builds in contingencies.
• We’re all about metrics. We measure everything. All changes and innovations must be designed as measurable and results reported before adapting as process. That said, we do encourage iteration and experimentation. No bureaucracy required.
• People are an extremely important part of our equation. The Director must enjoy mentoring & collaborating with others in our business.

 Specific Responsibilities:

• Develop a plan to ship orders faster and maintain our current cost per order (and we’re already fast).
• Optimize labor to support high growth initiatives (you won’t find much low hanging fruit).
• Breathe some more life into our Ops team through innovating processes and creating a learning environment (they’re excellent, but stalled).
• Determine best practices for international logistics and shipping (it’s new to us and we’re figuring it out. Subject matter expert gets additional points).
• You own the inventory once it’s received into Operations. Track it, count it, replenish it.

 Education and Experience:

• Four year related degree, MBA preferred.
• Highly successful leader in Operations with 7+ years of experience in B2C fulfillment
• Prior experience implementing “best in class” fulfillment strategies, including lean and six-sigma processes
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational improvement initiatives that are sustainable and provide favorable bottom line impact
