Job description
Tasting Room Sales Associates serve as the first point of contact for the majority of Desert Wind customers. They are ambassadors of the Desert Wind brand and are expected to embody the customer service ideals of Desert Wind Winery.
Duties and responsibilities
• Welcome all Desert Wind guests and provide exceptional customer service;
• Educate customers regarding Desert Wind wines, our history and our facility;
• Assist overnight guests with check‐in/checkout procedures and turndown service;
• Promote the Desert Wind wine club to all customers;
• Handle purchases using POS system and provide retail‐related guidance to customers;
• Conduct facility tours and tastings for scheduled large groups;
• Attend monthly employee meetings;
• Help with special winery events as needed;
• Conduct numerous other duties associated with a fast‐paced retail environment.
Additional duties
• Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety;
• Checking stock levels and requesting supplies as needed;
• Preparing cash drawers for daily sales.
Minimum requirements
The ideal candidate will be extremely detail‐oriented, with previous retail sales experience.
Desert Wind is a service‐oriented establishment and exceptional customer service skills are an absolute necessity. The ability to multi‐task in a fast‐paced work environment is key.
Additional requirements
• A valid drivers’ license and an acceptable driving record or the ability to transport yourself to and from various work locations.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Other combinations of education and experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job will also be considered.
Tasting Room Sales Associates will be expected to work 2‐3 days per week. The schedule is flexible, but does require weekend work.
This is a part‐time position with wine and retail discounts. Tasting Room Sales Associates receive an hourly wage based on experience, plus a percentage of the wine sales generated during each shift worked. This position will remain open until filled.
