Harvest Lab Techs (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Precept Wine is the largest privately-owned wine company in the Northwest. We’re seamlessly integrated to run our own vineyards, wineries and world-class tasting rooms. Currently we are looking for the best and brightest to fill multiple immediate openings in our Lab Tech in our winery lab at our Willow Crest Winery. This is the right opportunity for someone who appreciates wine, science and teamwork. Temporary Harvest Lab Techs will be considered for limited permanent position post-harvest.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
•  Analyze samples in a timely manner and send samples to peer labs.
•  Perform analyses using a variety of manual and automated methods
•  May set up, read and report wine microbiology
•  May be perform water testing 
•  Test incoming grapes and juice
•  Set up wine tastings and trials
•  Collect samples from barrels and tanks
•  Effectively meet deadlines including required QC samples
•  Follow standard operating procedures and attend weekly lab meetings
•  Follow laboratory safety procedures and attending safety meetings
•  Properly maintain instruments and test systems
•  Maintain accurate records and perform accurate data entry 
•  Learn expected results for wines and wine styles by winemaker and 
•  Maintain an organized and clean working environment 
•  Communicate effectively with supervisor, winemaker and laboratory staff
•  Other duties as assigned by Winemakers and Director of Lab Operations

Skills and Requirements:
•  Ability to work quickly, accurately and safely
•  Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods
•  Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
•  Excellent organizational stills, detail oriented
•  Self-starter with initiative willingness to learn and follow new procedures
•  Previous experience in a production lab, professional kitchen or winery preferred but not required
•  Use of multiple computer programs, primarily Microsoft Office
•  Basic math and science aptitude required,
•  High school graduate or GED required
•  College degree preferred but not required

The ideal applicant will be able to work as a key member of our team and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

This is a paid full-time position 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Extended hours during harvest including Saturday and Sunday.
