Warehouse Manager Position

Galaxy Wine Company, a leading wine importer and wholesale distributor based in Portland, Oregon, has an immediate opening for an experienced Warehouse Manager. We are looking for candidates with several years of leadership experience in a similar role within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our warehouse. 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Hiring, training, motivating, coaching and supervising the warehouse staff.
Scheduling warehouse team members to maintain adequate staffing levels while meeting budgetary requirements.
Ensure that the warehouse staff is complying with all safety policies, good practices and procedures.
Maintaining the physical condition of the warehouse. Perform facility inspections daily to ensure a safe work environment and the cleanliness of the premises.
Initiate and supervise regular inventory cycle counts. Ensure the accuracy and the security of the inventory. Work towards keeping “shrinkage” and “damage” to an absolute minimum. Initiate and supervise quarterly inventory counts.
Monitor the receipt of shipments, stocking and staging of inventory, and the accuracy of outgoing shipments regularly. Work with staff to troubleshoot, trace, rectify and correct any miss-shipments.
Initiate or conduct regular training on all equipment (including forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) utilized in the warehouse.
Make sure that all job-related paperwork is processed timely.
Working with other departmental managers to ensure a smooth operational flow.
Perform various other tasks as requested by senior management.

Desirable Skills:
Computer and IT savvy. Has the ability to understand and to use inventory control software fluently. 
Has strong math skills. 
Superior Organizational skills. Maintain and update records as needed. Will strive to improve efficiencies in our operation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Leads by example. Works well with others and collaborates enthusiastically.
Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.

Qualifications
Two+ years experience in inventory management and warehouse management.
Previous and successful people management experience.
Knowledge of standard inventory control procedures.
Excellent computer math, data organization and record keeping skills. Excel, Word, email/text and data entry experience desirable.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.

This job requires physical stamina. Candidate must be able to spend much time standing, walking, pushing and pulling loads up to full-pallets, be able to lift boxes up to 40lbs repeatedly. Must be able to use rolling ladders, hand trucks, pallet jacks, fork lifts, etc..


Salary: $45,000 to $60,000 commensurate with experience
Benefits include generous PTO program, Health/Dental program, 401k Program available.

Schedule is generally Monday thru Friday with some early evenings.
