We are providing a career opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated individual to manage the Tasting Room and Wine Club. This position will oversee all aspects of the tasting room including management of day-to-day operations, personnel, budgeting and the development of policies, procedures, staff training, and manuals. The perfect candidate must be sales oriented, wine knowledgeable, computer literate, have a passion for customer service, and a strong ability to sell. This leadership position requires initiative, a go-getter attitude, and excellent communication skills and relationships with management, customers, and staff.
Candidates must have experience in, and a passion for, the wine industry and wine sales. Roles will include learning the details of our wines and history, being able to share our story with guests, and selling wine. Previous winery, restaurant or retail management experience is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• First-hand knowledge, appreciation and passion for wine and wine-related topics
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to connect with people, engage in ongoing conversation, eliminate sources of customer friction, and resolve issues expediently
• Cash Register POS and advanced computer knowledge required (e-mail, Word, Excel, database management, website e-commerce, etc), knowledge of Vin65 or similar wine industry related program.
• Must have analytic ability for reporting and strong attention to detail
• Maintain a professional appearance, be a team player and maintain a positive disposition
• Strong multi-tasking abilities
• Must be 21 years old or older, able to work weekends and some holidays and evenings
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Daily setup and cleanup of the Tasting Room, restocking, monitoring of inventory levels on wine and merchandise, keeping media materials current and stocked, keeping tasting bar, retail and stock areas clean, attractive and organized.
• Strive to continuously improve the quality of service, hospitality, and presentation to build a strong team and a reliable client base.
• Develop, maintain & follow standard operating procedures and practices for the Tasting Room.
• Ability to analyze and report sales information in an accurate and timely manner to management.
• Manage inventory levels to maintain optimum re-order points and controls for wine and retail
merchandise.
• Cultivate partnerships with local hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality vendors to increase traffic.
• Assist in planning, promoting, and executing hospitality events such as private tastings, club events, weddings and group visits.
• Manage and maintain the wine club database with current and accurate customer records, keep continuously updating old shipments by calling or emailing recipients.
• Manage packaging and shipping of wine club shipments.
• Manage the hiring, training, and scheduling of tasting room staff.
This is a full-time position with a work schedule of Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday. Compensation is based on experience. Health & 401K benefits available.
