Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Winemaker

Department: Heart of House

Reports To: Master Winemaker

FLSA Status: Exempt

Prepared Date: 05/01/15

SUMMARY

Oversees day to day operations of winery including record keeping, inventory management, and lab analysis

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

5 Years of Related Experience Required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures that production plans and quality standards are met

Assists the Master Winemaker in barrel and product evaluations

Assists the Master Winemaker in preparing blends and lab trials

Ensures that wine is in stock by communicating with the Master Winemaker and helping plan production schedules

Maintains necessary inventory levels of dry goods and packaged materials

Develops ideas for improve efficiency in cellar procedures

Communicates with the General Manager regularly to meet the Front of House needs

 

Maintains accurate records that are needed for state and federal compliance regulations
