The Role:

We are currently looking for an Operations Analyst to be a key part of the operations and finance team based in Paso Robles, CA. This position is expected to provide operational data, analysis, and insights and communicate effectively with senior management. The position will report to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations.

Here's what you'll do:

• Ad hoc requests from the operations team including generating database queries and custom reports.
• Update product costs, trend analyses, and standard versus actual reporting and analysis.
• Coordinate with production team to ensure timely completion of bottling work orders, and timely receipt of raw materials.
• Manage monthly manufacturing close process including review and resolution of manufacturing variances.
• Work closely with the winemaking and vineyard teams to assist in preparation of annual plan as well as quarterly forecasts, focusing on the underlying business drivers, key operating metrics, and historical trends.
• Provide monthly variance explanations for vineyard and winemaking departments
• Assist production and sourcing teams to provide tools to assist with bottling and raw material scheduling and budgeting.
• Maintain item master and bills of material for all active inventory items.
• Build and maintain models to assess long-term capital needs.
• Coordinate with external auditors and production team to coordinate bulk wine and barrel inventory counts.
• Perform and reconcile form 5120 (formally 702) bulk wine regulatory reporting on a monthly basis; work with IT department to improve system generated report.
• Assist with coding and approval of purchase orders and invoices.
• Review open purchase orders and purchase price variances monthly.
• Assist production team with work order processing during harvest.
• Assist vineyard department with maintaining long-term grape supply projections and grape contract summaries.
• Create PowerPoint presentations for production team.
• Understand operations of the business and share knowledge across the organization
• Other duties as assigned.

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Preferred 2-3 years of progressive experience in a related field.
• Experience creating database queries.
• Superior analytical and reporting skills with the ability to resolve issues and develop new processes and tools when necessary.
• Advanced experience in Excel.
• JD Edwards or experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and work quickly/accurately under pressure.
• Should be an organized, goal oriented, responsive, and energetic, team player.
• Light travel (quarterly) to Sonoma may be required to work with production teams at our sister winery, Landmark Vineyards.
