Tasting Room Coordinator (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Performance Expectations:

• Champions and executes the winery’s strategic sales philosophy by delighting customers through tours, wine education, and wine tasting activities that result in customer satisfaction and wine sales.
• Acquires a thorough knowledge of the winery and its wines in order to answer a wide range of questions about grape growing, wine making, and wine in general.
• Professionally handles all phone calls and mail handling.
• Responsible for posting to social media outlets to complement other marketing directives.
• Ensures wine and gift shop items are restocked in an accurate and timely manner, and performs inventory cycle counts as required.
• Politely, accurately and efficiently handles gift shop transactions.
• Assists with invoicing, hand-writes, and making wholesale deposits.
• Assists with food preparation and service during lunch hours
• Effectively communicates and participates as a part of the Winery Team which includes regular attendance at the mandatory monthly team meeting.
• Represents the winery with a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Participates in a program of continual learning and skill development.
• Supports the team’s ISO 9001 compliance effort and actively participates in the Company’s continuous quality improvement program.
• Performs additional duties as deemed appropriate by the Tasting Room Manager.

Qualified candidates will possess:

• Proven job history and good tenure at previous employers
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in a hospitality or retail service environment.
• Experience in accounting or bookkeeping
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong computer experience
