Pasanella & Son, Vintners, a medium-sized wine shop in Lower Manhattan and one of Food & Wine's "Top 10 NYC Stores", is looking for a full-time store manager to help expand our business in the fastest growing neighborhood in NYC. We are looking for someone interested in a long-term position with the potential for partnership. In addition to being experienced, knowledgeable about wine & food and passionate, the ideal candidate:

There are many transactions (both buying and selling) so attention to detail and ability to follow up are crucial.

is as comfortable schlepping a case as strategizing about marketing
A typical day may involve talking to the press one minute and ordering office supplies the next. The ideal candidate is as comfortable with grunt as well as glamour.

enjoys teaching
The perfect person is as comfortable answering questions for the newbie wine customer as chatting with a collector, or leading a class.

and has excellent taste
Our highly-edited selection with an emphasis on smaller, sustainably-produced and just-about-to-be-discovered producers is the basis of our reputation. We need someone who is equally committed to ferreting out the best and winnowing it down to a unique & balanced selection.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day store management including staffing, supplies, inventory, website, store presentation & customer service
Purchasing & maintenance of a balanced product portfolio based on margin, price, volume and, of course, taste!
Coordination in-store consumer tastings and leading of educational programs
Media appearances as required

Requirements
At least four years retail, wholesale and/or hospitality experience.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Computer and social media savvy.
Significant wine & spirits knowledge, particularly in small-production, sustainably-produced wines. Sommelier certification is a plus.
