In a short space of time the Yealands Wine Group from Marlborough New Zealand has established itself as a global leader in sustainable wine production. Inspired to “think boldly, tread lightly and never say it can’t be done”, the Yealands Wine Group has achieved rapid international growth, exporting to over 70 countries.

This is a great opportunity to further enhance and grow our market across the United States.  Working closely with our US importer this role is about building strong relationships and building the Yealands brands and story with our importer, their distributor networks, key retail and on premise customers and end consumers in order to leverage business opportunities. 

In addition the position will report to and work alongside the Yealands VP Sales - USA to identify other opportunities for Yealands Wine Group (YWG).

In representing our brand, providing formal and informal education and training to trade and consumers, attending key profile events in market including wine shows, winemaker and sponsorship events, NZ Winegrower and NZ Trade and Enterprise events, the successful applicant will need to be a recognised NZ Wine resource and ambassador, therefore an understanding and appreciation of our Kiwi culture, lifestyle and wines is required.

We’re looking for an exceptional individual who is technically:

·  A savvy negotiator with a proven sales track record

·  A strong relationship builder

·  Results driven with the ability to project and report sales data and trends

·  An independent worker but a team player

It’s preferred that you have:

·  Knowledge of the Wine & Spirits industry in relation to the  import function.

·  A clear understanding of the three tier system and the regulated nature of the industry with a focus on legal compliance

·  A college degree with 2 – 5 years related experience

Extensive domestic (USA) and some international travel is part of the role, as is after hours work to host events, consumer dinners, store tastings etc.   You will need your own home office set up.
