Borvin Beverage, a wine import and distribution business located in Alexandria, Virginia, is looking for sales representatives/account managers in Virginia, District of Columbia and Montgomery County, Maryland. Borvin has for 28 years successfully imported and distributed wines from Bordeaux, Cote-du-Rhone, Burgundy, Languedoc, and Alsace in France and also offers German wines from Rheinhessen, Mosel, and Rheinpfalz as well as wines from Mexico, Italy, Argentina, Spain and Portugal. Borvin currently sells wine to numerous outlets from restaurants to large corporations such as Wholefoods and Harris Teeter supermarkets.

About the Job

Borvin is currently looking for WINE SALES REPRESENTATIVES in Northern Virginia as well as throughout the state. We are looking for seasoned, sales professionals with experience who are looking to learn a challenging new career selling Borvin Wines to retail establishments. Ideal candidates will have some professional selling skills. The position involves prospecting for new sales opportunities in assigned territories.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Responsible for prospecting and direct selling of a Borvin Wines products that will deliver real value to retail establishments. Also responsible for maximizing the sales of Borvin brands to the trade through effective territory planning, selling merchandising, and communicating that permits achievement of company and supplier objectives. Accounts include restaurants, hotels and bars throughout territories. 

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Calls on accounts and prospects and creates consistent pattern. Determines specific needs of the individual accounts.
Prepares and presents professional sales presentations to customers.
Understands company pricing and maintainins accurate and up to date records.
Organizes wine tastings to maximize brand visibility within accounts 
Communicates with management as to needs of specific accounts by maintaining organized territory and account records.
Attends and actively participate in sales meetings.
Maintains company confidentiality. 
Performs merchandising activities in accounts that would include, rotating product on shelves, merchandising and building displays.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of two years in sales or similar industry related experience is required.
Experience in sales or marketing
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills: 
An understanding of wine and spirits is preferred. 
Strong customer service and interpersonal expertise preferred.
Results oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pays attention to detail and meet deadlines.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Current state driver's license
• Ability to meet company auto insurance requirements.

• Must be able to regularly operate a motor vehicle.

Physical Demands: 
Employee must be capable of lifting and carrying 40 pound cases of wine.
