A permium Northern Virginia Winery is searching for an experienced Tasting Room Manager/Sales Director who has demonstrated an ability to provide excellent customer service and to drive sales with a combination of enthusiasm and knowledge. The manager will lead the tasting room staff to achieve the established financial goals, ensure a rich customer experience, build customer loyalty and reflect the wineries essence.

 

The candidate must be articulate & motivated with excellent sales and communication skills. The candidate needs to project a positive and professional image and have great interpersonal skills as well as have organizational and problem solving abilities, and can ensure that our guest’s have a great and memorable experience.

 


Responsibilities:

 

·         Manage and create procedures to optimize the tasting room operation

 

·         Prepare the tasting room for daily opening and closing

 

·         Ensure a clean and organized environment

 

·         Answer guests questions with confidence and true enthusiasm

 

·         Monitor inventory: select and order wine and merchandise as needed

 

·         Plan winery events and create new marketing projects

 

·         Oversee the winery marketing communication, including newsletter, social media and coordinating the design of other tasting room promotional materials

 

·         Able to work weekends and Winery Events

 

·         Coach and manage tasting room associates on sales, service and wine knowledge

 

·         Wine Club Management

 

•         Expand and manage wine club and wine club special event

 

•         Write and send quaterly-shipment emails

 

•         Responsible for club billing, shipping, and communication with existing and potential wine club members

 

•         Direct staff in their Club-related tasks and implement quaterly pick-up

 

·         Sell wine and wine club

 

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the management

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Minimum of 2 years of direct sales and/or tasting room experience. Proven track record of leadership, management and sales growth

 

·         Creative, flexible, and innovative team player with a positive attitude and professional demeanor and appearance

 

·         Excellent customer service in addition to written and oral communication skills

 

·         Sale driven, result driven, be able to take sales pressure - Friendly, but not pushy

 

·         Prior Tasting Room or Restaurant experience is desired

 

·         Professional sales experience in wine industry is a great plus

 

·         Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Wine Ware Software a plus.

 

·         Wine Club Management experience is a great plus
