One of Long Island's growing family owned fine wine and liquor store conveniently located in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Wine Store Manager. The management believes that the future growth and success of our retail store will be direct result of employees needed to help the management better serve the customers and grow the business.

 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage day to day operations of the store by creating a friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming environment for our customer’s satisfactory experience.

Sell/recommend wine/liquor from our selection on the floor and provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers with their queries.

Advise owner of any issues and/or special customer requests.

Execute transactions using our point of sales system and assist in cashiering as needed

Answer phones, fulfill orders and make deliveries as needed.

Manage inventory by making sure merchandise is on hand and shelves/displays are fully stocked. Assist in receiving, unloading and storing of inventory.

Monitor and manage store staffing needs to achieve maximum efficiency. Set goals, conduct performance reviews and provide direction/feed to achieve goals. Implement staff training and development and conduct performance reviews.

Assist with marketing, advertisements, newsletters and e-commerce

Coordinate in opening/closing of the store and be available evenings/weekends and holidays.

General cleaning and various tasks as directed by ownership

Desired skills, experience and requirements:

Possess a minimum of two (2) years retail experience with a minimum of one (1) year as supervisory experience preferably in retail or wholesale wine sales environment. The candidate should have good knowledge and understanding of wine.

Must be a team player with a dynamic, outgoing personality and strong communication skills.

Must be driven, organized and have a proven track record of developing client relationships.

Must have a strong work ethics with the ability to work independently.

Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment

Must be able to assist with moving and stocking inventory and stand for lengthy periods of time.

Must be able to work evenings/weekends, on holidays and as needed for special events/tastings.

Ability to lift and pull 50 pounds on a regular basis

Must be familiar with Microsoft Office especially Excel, Word, & Outlook

Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
