JOB SUMMARY
To maximize the sales of a broad range of The Country Vintner of NC's portfolio to off-premise customers within the designated regional markets through a value-added, consultative sales approach.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develops an effective marketing and sales plan in order to maximize wine and spirit sales and achieve goals within established and new customers
2. Solicit sales in assigned market to achieve objectives through evaluation of new business opportunities and voids in accounts.
3. Ensure the development and growth of existing accounts through increasing their overall dollar volume and representation of the Company’s wine portfolio.
4. Introduce/roll-out new products and implement promotions in assigned accounts.
5. Prospect for and open new accounts within regional territory.
6. Monitor sales growth, account penetration and performance to goals and budgets through the active use of sales reporting tools.
7. Work diligently to achieve assigned goals and objectives, including sales budgets, incentives and brand programming, in a timely manner.
8. Develop strong account relationships by identifying and fulfilling customer needs and maintaining routine contact with key decision makers.
9. Merchandise retail accounts, utilize POS and display materials; request and maintain the best possible positioning of wines in accounts including floor displays and by-the-glass/cocktail placements
10. Provide to accounts educational programs, materials and services such as staff training whenever possible.
11. Responsible for communicating directly with Customer Service department any specific ordering or shipping needs indicated by customers within their territory.
12. Work closely with accounts receivable department to resolve any billing issues within their designated territory; ensure accounts provide timely payment of amounts due
13. Continue to build deep wine and spirits knowledge, specifically regarding the company’s portfolio, and ability to educate customers on the portfolio; participate in The Winebow Group educational programs
14. Represent The Country Vintner of NC in a professional manner
OTHER FUNCTIONS
1. Attends meetings and functions.
2. Participate in or lead weekend and evening activities, including retail tastings and/or wine dinners
3. Support delivery organization as required.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
5. Pursue industry recognized wine accreditations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Self-motivated, results oriented individual
2. Demonstrated wine and spirits knowledge
3. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
4. Two years marketing or sales experience.
5. Restaurant/Wine Shop experience preferred.
6. Demonstrated computer knowledge.
7. Strong communication and math skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships.
8. Valid Driver’s License.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Significant travel by automobile.
