Financial Analyst (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

Cinder Staffing is searching for an experienced Financial Analyst for a direct hire opportunity with our client, a great wine estate in Newberg, OR. This is a full-time salaried position with a generous benefits package including a monthly wine allowance.

Job Description:

  • Ensure company’s financial planning is aligned with business objectives and is well constructed to provide a solid foundation for future growth and profitability.
  • Forecast revenues and expenditures, advise on future budgeting and develop financial modeling for strategic decision making.
  • Using forecasting models and cost accounting processes to analyze potential pricing structure options as well as business model adjustments, identifying risks and potential opportunities for each.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop methods and tools to support financial data collection, performance modeling, statistical analysis, and complex reporting
  • Build financial models through benchmarking and process analysis
  • Analyze the viability of proposed pricing structures or changes in business model
  • Evaluate current capital expenditures and depreciation and make recommendations for future planning
  • Analyze Foreign Currency Transactions if needed for potential impact
  • Forecast quarterly and annual profits
  • Prepare cost projections on both actual activities as well as potential future activities
  • Analyze and report on current financial status and trends
  • Conduct thorough research of historical financial data
  • Research and prepare variance analysis, commentary and recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate with the COO, accounting team and the executive team on long-term financial planning
  • Participate in budgeting (for departments and projects)
  • Review accounting transactions for data accuracy
  • Establish financial policies as needed
  • Cross train with other accounting personnel for backup as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and investment decisions

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • CFA or CPA strongly desired
  • Expertise in MS Excel (using advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and QuickBooks
  • Solid working knowledge of GAAP required
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, able to explore or create new business model ideas
  • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking skills
  • Wine industry experience a plus
