Manhattan Wine Company (mwcwine.com) is seeking a motivated and self-reliant individual to serve as a Retail Associate in the Company’s new 3,000 square foot retail store in the West Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, which is slated to open in June 2015. This will be a full-time, salaried position. Established nearly 10 years ago as a full-service, off-site wine storage and logistics provider, Manhattan Wine Company is a competitive, ambitious and trustworthy company that seeks employees that share those same characteristics. We have an opportunity for a self-starter to learn all aspects of the most all-encompassing part of the wine business. We’re aiming to be a benchmark destination for wine lovers from across the world and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to help us build the next great shop of New York City from the ground up.

MWC is seeking to hire the Retail Associate immediately.  

Primary job responsibilities:

-Product receiving

-Order pull, pack and ship

-Inventory Maintenance (physical and electronic)

-e-commerce product management (photographing product, create product profile pages, etc)

-Merchandising retail floor

-Event setup, serving and tear down

-Local deliveries

 

Candidates should possess the following:

-General knowledge of MS office software, including: Excel, Powerpoint and Word

-General knowledge of Point-Of-Sale accounting software

-Ability to routinely lift 50 lbs

-Living in or near Manhattan with access to public transportation

-Ability to work at least 40 hours per week, including Saturday and/or Sunday

-Previous work experience in a service-related industry

 

Preferred Candidates will possess:

-Previous work experience specifically in a consumer-facing wine/beverage industry

-Previous work experience in retail

-Strong desire for a long-term career in the exciting and fast-growing wine industry

-College degree

 

Salary & Benefits:

The Retail Associate will earn a competitive starting salary commensurate with experience.  After 90 days of successful employment, the Retail Associate will be entitled to enroll in the Company’s health care plan provided by Aetna Health Insurance. Additionally, the Retail Associate will be provided with up to 10 days of paid vacation/sick days.  The Retail Associate will have opportunities for career advancement within the Company in order to earn increased compensation and additional paid time off.
