Position Summary:
This position has primary responsibility for development and tracking of brand P&Ls and financial targets; analysis of actual versus budget/forecast results (including identification of key risks and opportunities); analysis of market and commercial trends to help improve brand performance; and preparation of business cases to support and influence commercial decision-making as it relates to financial resource allocation, pricing & promotions, and other business development activity.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for assigned brands
- Preparation of operational and strategic reviews relating to the brand as well as other ad hoc management/stakeholder presentations
- Period end close responsibilities including preparation of accruals and analysis of actual results versus budget/forecast (variance analysis)
- Tracking of internal and external trends (including depletions, Nielsen, and NABCA data) to explain and/or forecast brand performance
- Development & tracking of brand Advertising & Promotion (A&P) budgets, and evaluation of marketing program effectiveness (ROI), in conjunction with brand marketing team
- Governance of brand pricing strategy and identification and implementation of revenue optimization opportunities, in conjunction with field sales teams
- Preparation of business cases to support brand-related commercial decisions (e.g. price changes, product/range extensions, etc.)
- Improvement of internal processes and systems
- Manage and develop one BP&A analyst
Nature & Scope:
This position reports to the BP&A Finance Director. This position will interact directly with Pernod Ricard USA Sales & Marketing leadership, Divisional Finance Directors, Pricing Managers, and Pernod Ricard brand companies to develop & implement commercial plans and report & analyze actual results. This position will have one direct report.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics; MBA preferred
Experience / Background: Minimum 5-7 years in a financial planning & analysis or commercially focused business analytics role with demonstrable career progression. Should have a high level of comfort with planning, budgeting & forecasting, navigating & managing a financial P&L, and delivering insight-driven commercial analysis. Industry experience preferable but not essential.
Working Conditions:
Position is office-based with some travel (5-10%)
