Great opportunity to join and help build an already successful newly (ish) established (since 2009) boutique importer and distributor located in NYC. We are seeking an experienced fine French wines salesperson (on and off premise) for the still widely open New York City market. Our portfolio is composed of boutique wineries mainly from Burgundy, Rhone Valley, Provence and the South of France (Languedoc & Roussillon). Mostly from organic farming. Sometimes Biodynamic. Always sustainable.
Candidates must possess good knowledge of French wine producing regions with a particularly strong understanding of Burgundy and Rhone Valley. They must have a working knowledge of the Manhattan market both on & off premise, with strong established relationships, above all On-Premise; be able to step in immediately to the territory and effectively and aggressively develop new business while striving to attain company and supplier goals.
Qualifications:
*Minimum 3 yrs experience in fine wine sales
*Strong product knowledge of the French major wine producing regions
*Well-organized with good time management skills
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
*Highly motivated with an entrepreneurial attitude
*Computer literate with internet access
*College degree preferred
*On-Premise contacts/sales experience preferred
*French language skills a plus
Based on experience but most likely a Competitive Draw vs Commission + expense package
