Food Prep Specialist (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Because we are a manufacturer and retailer of wine, our work setting is unlike any other. You will be surrounded by hard working, success-oriented individuals, state of the art winemaking equipment, and a high quality product that brings joy to many people. Our Food Prep Specialist will work during our most active period of the week, putting together food and wine selections for our picnic baskets as well as overseeing our guests, patio and grounds. Our goal is to provide a flawless and enjoyable experience that will bring our visitors back! 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Executes recipe and product directions.
  • Prepares all refrigerated picnic components.
  • Properly packages and labels all retail food for resale.
  • Keeps inventory of food components.
  • Keeps detailed records of food waste and food spoilage, monitors expiration dates.
  • Maintains a clean/sanitary kitchen.
  • Assists in development of new food offerings and provides insight on modification of current offerings as needed. 

      Weekend duties (based upon weekend needs/events): 

  • Bake bread for resale and all picnics.
  • Oversee the wine flight area and ensure it is fully stocked.
  • Make and serve wine flights as needed, work as a "flight attendant" and "picnic executor" when needed.
  • Oversee all picnic guests.
  • Help to keep patio and grounds clean.
  • Assist at register area as needed.
  • Assist bar backs as needed.
  • Clear and wash all picnic dishes and flight components.
  • Prepare more food as necessary to accommodate increased foot traffic.                                                                                       

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of safe food temperatures; knife handling experience, as well as previous experience breaking down various whole blocks/wheels of cheese.
  • Available to work 2-3 shifts per week Thursday-Sunday.
  • Ability to read recipes and product directions.
  • Ability to work under safe serve guidelines, safely store and serve food.
  • Possess basic cooking skills.
  •  A strong interest in wine.
  • Because of the nature of this position, must be at least 21 years of age to apply.

Typical Schedule: 15-20 hours per week (Thur-Sun). 

Hourly Wage: $10.00/hour.
