SALES ASSOCIATE (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Dynamic and growing fine wine Importing company is looking for a salesperson to call on and develop on and off premise accounts primarliy in the New York metro area but also throughout the Northeast territory.

Candidates must have a proven sales record – we welcome a self-starter with an eye for opportunities.

Relationship-building qualities are imperative in order to enhance our client relationships and sales.

This position requires:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a wine distributor rep, supplier or broker.
- Must live in or near the New York City metro area
- Goal-oriented personality with a proven track record of achieving sales and profit goals, and creating positive relationships
- Strong follow-up skills
- Wine knowledge necessary. Knowledge of Italian imports a big plus.
- Ability to thrive in a highly competitive environment
- Proven presentation skills & polished interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational habits, with ability to work unsupervised
- Passion and enthusiasm for the wine industry and sales success
- Able to work flexible hours
- Professional appearance
- Computer fluency
- Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and proof of insurance
- English fluency is required, Italian language is a plus

Responsibilities:

- Achieve monthly sales and placements goals, on and off premise, in the assigned territory
- Organize cold calls to establish relationships and further market penetration
- Follow-up with accounts and provide regular call reports
- Provide high level of service to support accounts
- Conduct in-store tastings and wait-staff trainings
- Work in the market to build strong customer relationships
