Small southern Napa winery, looking for an energetic, personable, upbeat and highly customer-service oriented sales professional who wants an opportunity to grow into a FT wine sales and tasting room manager, eventually responsible for all aspects of the Direct to Consumer experience, including but not limited to wine sales, tastings, tours, scheduling reservations, networking, and managing our wine club. Must have flexibility during the week with weekends mandatory. Candidate must have exceptional customer service skills and enjoy working with the public, with the ability to intelligently share wine knowledge, encourage sales and wine club membership, and create a memorable experience for our visitors. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift 50 lbs. Must be 21 yrs. old.
Responsibilities
- Manage tastings and tours of the winery
- Wine and retail sales
- Knowledge of our story, our wines and our goals
- Event support and staffing
- Manage wine club shipments
- Assist in various marketing tasks such as writing of tasting notes, flyers, etc.
- Online and in person networking with local drivers, tour companies, concierges, etc.
- Attend and/or pour at industry events and hotels
- Regular social media posts
- Manage wine inventory, ordering and stocking
- Glass washing/polishing and other similar tasks
- Daily duties around the winery and tasting room
Qualification Requirements
- Sales/Retail experience a plus
- Exceptional customer service
- Some wine knowledge, prior wine related job preferred
- Ability to conduct tours and host small groups
- Excellent writing ability
- Computer proficiency (Mac and PC)
- Consistent and reliable
- Strong attention to detail and a general commitment to quality in all aspects of work
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and some evening events
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor in all circumstances
- Must be 21 years of age
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand on one’s feet for extended periods of time
Compensation
- Compensation will be determined on an individual basis with hourly rate, incentive and opportunity for tips.
