Job Description:

Position Summary:
Shafer Vineyards is looking to fill a cellar position recently vacated when a member of our world-class cellar team retired after 30+ years.
This position offers the opportunity to work in a tight team alongside one of the leading winemakers of Napa Valley.

Key Responsibilities:
Follow all cellar protocols, standards and procedures.
Cleaning and Sanitation in all areas (facility and equipment)
Understanding of barrel operations, racking, filling and topping
Help with the accurate completion of master blends and filtration of premium wines.
Help with sugars and tracking fermentations during harvest.
Help maintenance on all cellar equipment.
Experienced in all aspects of harvest related work.
Able to follow and complete work order instructions in detail.
This person will get to know your teammates and work together to please the boss – the wine.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
Minimum 1 years of cellar experience operating and caring for filters, pumps, presses, hoses and other cellar equipment.
Able to work in a fast-paced, precision-focused winery. Multi-tasking important
Reliable transportation to and from work and a clean driving record
Strong communication skills
Willingness to learn and improve.

Desirable:
Forklift experience
Spanish language fluency

Special Conditions:
Flexible working hours and overtime may be required
Ability to lift 60lbs

Compensation: The base pay scale offered for this position is $23-$35 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The Company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
