Position Summary:

Develop and implement US marketing plans for assigned wine brands to generate sustainable consumer and trade demand, support growth targets, and enhance overall brand image. Work with Brand Owners to understand brand vision and needs. Provide recommendations for strategic and long-range planning. Manage the development of all brand advertising and packaging and promotional concepts. Develop and maintain brand budgets. Effectively communicate brand strategies and product information to all pertinent audiences: internal, distributor, trade and consumer.

Critical Tasks:

Developing brand plans (25%)

• Creating Annual Marketing Plan and reviewing as needed at least at mid year point

• Develop Long Range Business Plan, annually

• Analyze programs effectiveness, key sales trends, competition, consumers trends

• Concept/Idea Development for programs 1-2 years out

• Concept, packaging and launch plans for new products

Execution of Plans (20%)

• Sales & Marketing Tools Development with AMM or vendors

• Program Roll-out with Sales

• Program Management & Tracking, including market work

Financial/Budgeting/Reviews/Pricing (20%)

• Internal Business Reviews, including Production Planning

• Inventory (transfers/allocations/analysis/depletions/vintage transitions)

• Budgeting and Managing A&P resources

• Tracking spending (GL reports, Invoices approval, Supplier communications/reconciliation)

• Pricing

Supplier Contact (15%)

• Daily point of contact

• Business Reviews, at least 3 times/yr

• Ad hock updates, when requested

• Presentation of Opportunities & Challenges 

Sales Direction & Support (10%)

• Sales Education

• Additional Sales Tools, Information, Market Support for local programming

Non-Critical Tasks:

Ad Hoc (10%)

• Direct Sales to On-line retailers, others

• Supplier Travel

• Miscellaneous Opportunities & Programs

Professional Requirements:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration. Five to seven years of brand management experience in the wine industry. 

Skills: Creativity and the desire to go above-and-beyond. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Strong analytical and strategic skills. Demonstrated “team work” orientation to bring out the best in those who work with them. Self motivated team player with ability to juggle 1) multiple competing projects with tight deadlines and 2) unexpected projects that develop and require immediate attention. Strong PC skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and attention to detail. Strong interest in wine with a demonstrated knowledge of wine on a global level.

Physical: Ability to work a flexible schedule including travel, domestic and international (25-30%).

Other: (Includes licenses, certificates, age etc.) Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of California, must have an acceptable driving record, and must have automobile liability insurance. Italian or Spanish Language skills preferred.
