Overview: Founded in 1980, Regal Wine Imports is an importer and wholesale distributor of fine wines and craft beers based in Moorestown, New Jersey. Life-long friends Charlie Trivinia and Dan Bada started the company from scratch with the simple philosophy of finding and representing the top examples from around the world. For over 30 years, Regal has held true to that vision. The company continues to grow significantly, now counting more than 75 employees, two offices, and a broad local and national distribution network.

The Brand Manager position is a unique opportunity to develop Regal’s existing wineries and influence the acquisition of new producers. The position is an excellent chance to build a career path into the exciting world of boutique wines and crafts beers.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships with assigned suppliers, including; developing mutually profitable partnerships and establishment of depletion and distribution targets.
  • Assist the Product Director in executing short and long-term brand objectives and product strategies.
  • Assist in development of depletion targets by supplier and product and monitor sales performance on a monthly basis. Provide Sales Managers with actual vs. budgeted results.
  • Work in the field with sales representatives to promote brand objectives and goals.
  • Track category trends and competitive activity. Works with Product Director on analyses and recommendations including evaluation of initiative effectiveness, tactical realignments, and new opportunities.
  • Monitor assigned product inventory levels are sufficient to meet sales projections, promotional activities and supplier visits. Assist the purchasing department with the timely arrival of product.
  • Participate in regional sales meetings by presenting new products and re-launching existing products that need a revitalized sales focus.
  • Create and maintain the repository for all technical information about our wineries.
  • Provide technical and sales information to the marketing department in support of their preparation of sales/marketing materials (such as shelf-talkers, sell-sheets, email marketing, mobile media)
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Department, develop monthly or quarterly product focus programs to ensure we are meeting targeted depletion goals.
  • Ensure all sales reps are provided with all POS, sales sheets and marketing materials for all products in a timely manner.
  • Help coordinate supplier visits with management and sales teams.
  • Follow all wine-related press subscriptions and communicate updates to the Sales and Marketing Departments.
  • Communicate all initiatives, promotional activity and pricing changes with the Operations and Purchasing Departments in order to proactively manage workflow and minimize duplication of efforts.
  • Communicate all supplier bill backs for contests, incentives, sample usage, or related activities to the Finance Department.
  • Perform general office tasks as required.
  • Perform special assignments, events, tastings, projects and other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • To be successful in this role, you must be a highly organized team player with a background in the industry and a passion for the wine and beer industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience (4+ years wine experience).
  • WSET or Court of Master Sommeliers certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in wine, beer, & spirits sales in a distributor or restaurant level is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Experience with public speaking and presenting to large groups preferred.
  • Language skills (Italian or French) is preferred, but not required.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Preferred experience with Adobe Suites.
  • Highly skilled in learning new industry specific software applications, e.g., Apprise Enterprise platform and Dimension Insights DIVER PRO.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to successfully multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere, while understanding big-picture objectives and strategy.
  • Must be flexible and easily adapt to change as business priorities shift.
