The Minnesota Area Sales Manager will be responsible for leading sales execution throughout the state of Minnesota, as well as achieving all volume and distribution goals for The Wine Group, Inc. portfolio of brands through all channels of trade. The Area Sales Manager will also be responsible for developing and executing pricing/programming strategies in coordination with the TWG Division Manager and local distributors throughout Minnesota.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ø Assist in developing and implementing annual operating plan which includes financial, volume, and distribution objectives for Minnesota.
Ø Responsible for building and owning relationships through all levels of management at local distributors as well as sharing key contact responsibilities for TWG communication
Ø Manage depletion and distribution objectives for all channels of trade
Ø Collaborate with TWG Division Manager and local distributors to ensure new item & monthly priority execution
Ø Schedule and lead effective distributor sales meetings – all levels of management
Ø Introduce creative sales execution concepts, share across state lines/regions if successful and aspire to be a leader in best practices
Ø Maintain key account relationships with-in assigned geography
Ø Administrative Responsibilities:
o Complete monthly CPR
o Complete monthly phasing calendar
o Maintain working key account list
o Complete any relevant Travel & Entertainment expenses on a weekly basis
o Additional responsibilities as assigned by Division Manager
Ø Manage assigned budgets including incentives, travel & entertainment and other departmental expenses.
Ø Ensure all sales practices are compliant with state & company policies/law

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ø Ability to travel frequently between home office, client sites, and industry meeting/events
Ø Primary work activities are within an office environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Preferred 5 or more years of sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry or related business with knowledge and passion for both commercial and premium wines
Ø Must have strong understanding and working knowledge of alcoholic beverage industry retail and On Premise environments
Ø BA degree or equivalent experience
Ø Intermediate wine knowledge or associated certifications preferred
Ø Well organized with ability to work both independently and within team environment
Ø Must possess the ability to adapt to change within organization and industry
Ø Results oriented, innovation, strong problem solving and negotiation skills
Ø Ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace
Ø Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Ø Ability to work and succeed in dynamic entrepreneurial environment
Ø Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ø Willing to travel with overnight stays as needed
