Job Function: Assistant Packaging Operator
Schedule: Part-time (20-30 hours per week)
Salary: $13 per hour
Insight Brewing is looking for an individual to join our growing packaging team. The position requires the ability to take direction well, a desire to learn, a can do attitude, and the willingness to break down obstacles and create solutions to meet quality and production goals.
Hours for the position typically falls between 9 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with some weekend work required. Hours are varying based on company needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES: As an Assistant Packaging Operator, you’ll serve an important support role for the Packaging Leader. Tasks will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work closely with and gain a clear functional understanding of packaging machinery
- Arrive at work on time and be ready to package at the designated starting time
- Prepping the Canning line
- Operate packaging line, labeler, and auxiliary equipment for canning beer
- Contribute to the full packaging operation including depalletizing empty containers, labeling, assembling trays and boxes, applying paktechs, assembling cases, stacking and wrapping pallets, etc.
- Weighing cans to ensure they contain just the right amount of beer
- Orderly case placement and case count on pallets
- Kegging beer
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the canning line and kegging equipment
- Help maintain accurate packaging/production records
- Work in a team environment and be able to meet daily production goals
- Work within company established safety standards
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently
- Handle cleaning chemicals as necessary
- Maintain overall cleanliness of entire brewery and cellar
- Cleaning of kegs, growlers, bottles, etc. as needed
- Other duties as assigned
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Interest of the craft beer industry
- Ability to take direction well, follow verbal and written SOP’s
- Positive Attitude
- Team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to multi-task
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Basic knowledge of how beer is brewed and packaged
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment (air compressor, gas line, pallet jack, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift experience or certification preferred, but not required
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or brewery environment preferred, but not required
- Attention to detail and ability to handle delicate objects with care
- Flexible schedule
