Oregon Vineyard Manager (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Supervision Duties: 

•  With assistance of the Regional Vineyard Manager, develop and implement the farm plan and work schedules (seasonal, monthly, weekly and daily).
•  With the assistance of the Viticulturist, develop and implement the pest control, irrigation and fertilizer schedules.
•  Act as “Ranch Expert” to answer all questions relative to assigned ranches.
•  Plan for and obtain the necessary tools, equipment, vehicles and/or materials for each activity.
•  Assign and supervise work as required.
•  Be active in the training programs for employees.
•  Assist the Regional Vineyard Manager with preparation and monitoring of budgets.
•  Perform employee evaluations.
•  Responsible for the accurate and timely submission of employee work time records.
•  Ensure equipment readiness to meet work schedules.
•  Direct communication link to all field staff.
•  Implement the company’s policies, safety requirements established by law and the company, and enforce safety work rules at all times.
•  Responsible for keeping the farming team informed of pertinent information regarding the ranches.
•  Assist with the plan for equipment purchases.
•  Assist with hiring vineyard workers.

Job Requirements: 

Knowledge/Experience: Must have extensive experience and training in vineyard work. Must have a proven ability to supervise employees in regards to: meeting the quality, work production and safety standard established by the company. Manage employees in accordance with company policy. Must have experience in operation of farm equipment. Experience in irrigation systems and pump stations. Experience in calibrating sprayers.

Skills: Basic computer skills, and abilities (Word, Excel and Outlook). Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and be literate in communication both verbally and in written form. Must have fun and bring a positive work spirit to the job.

Physical: Able to: travel by car/truck, visit multiple vineyard locations, and walk the vineyards (hillside and flat); work in various weather conditions throughout the year; operate farm equipment, lift and carry 50 lbs., work flexible schedules (including early daytime, evenings and weekends). 

Other: Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state employed, be insurable by the company and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely.

AgCode experience
Hold pesticide applicator license
FLC license
iPad applications experience
