Seabold Cellars, located in Marina, California along the Monterey Bay, is looking for 2 full-time and 2 part-time harvest interns from mid September - mid November. We have a focus on Pinot and Chardonnay, but with our custom crush facility, you will be able to work with a wide range of grapes and styles. We are a small team so you will be able to get a lot of hands-on experience and learn a great deal. The work will be physically challenging but very rewarding. 

The ideal candidate must be energetic, demonstrate clear and effective communication between all workers and have a can-do attitude. Must be detail-oriented, organized, reliable and have the ability to multi-task. Most importantly, you must have an interest in winemaking, a general respect towards all members of the team, a good work ethic. and take pride in your work.

This is a physical job so you must be able to lift/move heavy objects and be on your feet for long periods of time. We are flexible on the exact dates and number of hours worked, but "crunch time" ranges from mid-September through mid-to-late October.

Full-time interns should expect to work 40 hrs/week, and part-time interns should expect to work 20 hrs/week. Housing options are available if needed. 

Daily duties to include:

-Proper setup, use and care of all cellar equipment

-Manual and pneumatic punch-downs

-Track progress of alcoholic fermentation

-Record all cellar operations on work orders

-Assist in receiving fruit (unloading and weighing) 

-Operation of destemmer, press and other processing equipment

-Cleaning and sanitation of all equipment

-Transfer pomace from press and bins into dump-trailer using the bin dumper

-Transfer/rack juice and wine utilizing an air-pump

-Barrel operations to include filling, racking and topping

-Operation of forklift to move 2-barrel racks, 4-barrel racks and portable tanks

-Prepare additions (Yeast, MLB, Nutrients, etc.)

-Lab analysis (Free SO2 and Brix)
