Position Summary:
As the Technical Administrative Assistant, you will directly support Winemaking to ensure the highest wine quality standards are achieved. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with other departments within the organization in support of Delicato Operational Excellence initiatives. This position will participate in the winemaking process from vineyard to bottle, supporting a dynamic group of individuals that are passionate about their craft.
Duties/Essential Functions:
• Manages winemaking ingredient inventory and tracking of usage.
• Provides product specification sheets to customers both internal and external under direct supervision of Winemakers.
• Coordinates internal competitive, harvest, inventory, R&D, and customer tastings.
• Maintains departmental documents such as the Broker Sample List, Sample Request Form, Bottling Approval Packets (BAP), and WF-19 in SharePoint.
• Maintains SOPs for wine laboratory trials under the direction of the Winemakers.
• Oversees inventory of Winemaker’s holdback room and coordinates all wines for competition.
• Ensures ISO policies and procedures are maintained and followed; Reviews and updates procedures as needed.
• Assists with department KPIs (Headspace report, BAP) which include monitoring tank utilization.
• With input from winemakers, reserves gallons for the various bottling programs.
• Maintains and orders office supplies as needed.
• Tabulates winemaking vineyard and marketing time.
• Coordinates all monthly safety meetings and stamp incentive program.
• Provides meeting agendas and notes for all staff meetings and harvest downloads.
• Prints all reports as requested.
• With input from winemakers, issues purchase requests for all major purchases of ingredients including concentrate, high proof, oak staves, etc.
• Performs Tank Inspection audits as needed.
• Provides support to Enologists, Lab Manager, and Lab staff as needed.
• Maintains winemaking tasting lab; including updated SDS forms, appropriate inventory supply levels and general laboratory cleanliness.
• Assists with writing process orders such as maintenance chills and SO2 adds, bottling and shipping adjustments as requested.
Position Requirements:
Education: Associate of Science Degree.
Experience: 1-2 years laboratory experience preferred.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of Science and Math. Excellent communication skills, and organizational.
