Delicato Family Vineyards has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician at our Manteca, CA facility.

Position Summary:

Maintenance technicians are responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in accordance with proper safety procedures and industry best practices. Maintenance technicians provide critical support of production schedules ensuring customer delivery commitments are met.

In addition, this position performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance or repair of equipment for the distribution system. Responsibilities include: installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment and using a variety of electrician's hand tools, measuring and testing instruments.

Duties:

  • Participates in machinery trouble-shooting; documents repairs made.
  • Replaces or repairs defective parts.
  • Reassembles equipment and tests for conformance to specifications.
  • Works on assigned projects; responds to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Disassembles malfunctioning equipment; examines and tests mechanisms on large and small pieces of machinery.
  • Inspects and calibrates instruments.
  • Tests equipment and adjusts calibration to ensure equipment is functioning within specified standards.
  • Interprets technical documents (prints, manuals, PI&D) as required.
  • Maintains constructive cross-functional relationships.
  • Searches for and executes against continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Performs work in a quality fashion.
  • Performs basic electrical installation; installs wiring and conduit safely in compliance with company, state, & federal regulations.
  • Performs basic plumbing and piping operations, state, & federal regulations.  
  • Operates machining tools and drill presses; performs basic welding operations.
  • Services pumps and drive system components.
  • Troubleshoots basic alarms related to key winery systems.
  • Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for barrel processing equipment, bottling line equipment, and filtration equipment.
  • Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for destemmers, presses, and crush pits.
  • Maintains shop machines, tools and facilities.
  • Follows shop safety practices and shop housekeeping practices.
  • Operates electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.
  • Provides general facility maintenance and servicing for other departments and facilities. 
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience; Winery experience is preferred. An AA/AS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus. RETA Training and or Certified a plus.  Welding certifications a plus.

Knowledge:

Good judgment and problem-solving skills.   Ability to read and interpret technical equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.  A working knowledge of tuning PID loops, I to P controls a plus.
