Position Summary:  Under minimal supervision and acting on own initiative, performs a variety of repairs and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, fixtures and systems. Keeps accurate records, and ensures maintenance procedures are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Inspects equipment for proper function and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's/MP2 specifications.
  • Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes timely repairs and/or adjustments; monitors repaired equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Follows verbal and written instructions and provides feedback on work status.
  • Installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of facility plumbing, structures, mechanical equipment, and electrical systems.
  • Generates and tracks work order status, enters labor, parts usage, repairs made and downtime along with specific details of work performed using MP2 preventative maintenance software.
  • Performs line change-overs and fine tuning of bottling line equipment as required by production demands.
  • Adheres to proper safety standards and utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement events.
  • Maintains general winery sanitation and housekeeping in compliance with GMP standards.
  • Researches & recommends product and procedure improvements.
  • Provides support to maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Submits requisitions for parts and materials.
  • Assists in other departments as needed.

Equipment and Materials Utilized:

Type:  Computer, portable and fixed power tools, hand tools, test instruments, lubricants, cleaning chemicals, assorted powered lifting equipment, personal protective equipment. Must possess a valid CA driver license.

Position Requirements:

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant course work and/or trade school completion.

Tools:  Must have own hand tools.

Experience:  Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in specialized area, and working knowledge of other areas of maintenance.  Industrial controls and plc automation a plus, in addition to M&R Best Practices.

Knowledge:  Strong knowledge of winery equipment and process. Validated working knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, mechanical systems, and facilities/building maintenance. As an essential part of this position, possesses knowledge of key maintenance activities associated with OEE, CBM, RCA, and LEAN manufacturing best practices in a large scale manufacturing facility. Knowledge of bottling equipment with an understanding of planning and scheduling fundamentals.
