Kitá Wines is a small, premium winery located in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley within the Santa Barbara County AVA (American Viticultural Area). The word "Kitá" means "Our Valley Oak" in the Santa Ynez Chumash native language of Samala. With a total case production of around 2,000 cases, Kitá wines are crafted using sustainable methods and a blend of old world and new world wine making techniques. 

We are looking for a dynamic General Manager  that will oversee and manage all aspects of the winery and vineyard operations.  Working closely with the winemaker to grow the winery in volume and profitability and further establish Kitá Wines as a successful brand and winery within the Santa Ynez Valley community and beyond.
The General Manager is responsible for both sales and day-to-day management of the overall business, including sales and distribution strategy, budgeting and forecasting, wine production and related activities, vineyard management.  
   

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • BA/BS Degree required – MA/MBA preferred 

Experience 
 

  • Minimum of 5-10 years management and sales experience in wine industry
  • Business development experience a plus

  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of leadership in a fast paced, lean environment
  • Strong ability to drive sales and manage account, distributor and broker relationships
  • Experience in managing a small winery operation with strong financial management skills and proven ability to develop and execute on 3-5 year growth plan
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Team player with enthusiastic outlook and creative mind
  • Strong decision making abilities
  • Computer proficiency, including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with Quick Books or other accounting software
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
  • Available to work weekends as needed.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Employee must apply for, receive, and maintain a gaming license from the Gaming Commission ( Drug Test, Background Check and Credit check)
