Concannon is currently looking for an experienced, customer service, wine and food professional to join our management team. The ideal Wine Bar Assistant Manager candidate should possess wine bar and/or restaurant experience, should have a super-charged, customer-focused attitude, and a vibrant enthusiasm for wine and food and the wine lifestyle.

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Ø  Assistant the Wine Bar Manager with the day-to-day management of the Underdog Wine Bar (UWB) staff.

Ø  Work with a professionalism that upholds the organization’s objectives and requires the same of staff.

Ø  Train and role-model for staff on how to deliver outstanding customer service that exceeds expectations to assure positive experiences that build loyal customer relationships.

Ø  Address customer service related issues and complaints and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction whenever possible. 

Ø  When appropriate, promote in-house events at UWB and Concannon to maximize customer reach.

Ø  Assure compliance with health, safety and other statutory regulations.

Ø  Maintain a positive working environment between UWB staff and the kitchen team.

Ø  Maintain a high level of relevant Concannon wine and Concannon Vineyard knowledge by remaining familiar with current press information, memos and marketing information provided to you.

Ø  Responsible for maintaining wine list, ordering, transferring and maintaining wine products for sale at the wine bar.

Ø  Handles routine purchase transactions, which includes operating a cash register and accounting of daily sales and bank deposits.

Ø  Manages time spent on the service floor(FOH) as well as in the hospitality office(BOH)

Ø  Required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Ø  Must be able to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing and twisting in the performance of various tasks in a Wine Bar environment

Ø  Must be able to stand for an extended period of time when required.

Ø  Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Ø  Minimum of 2 years experience managing a busy wine bar or restaurant.

Ø  Minimum of 2 years experience in staff management, team-building and training wine bar and/or restaurant full-time and part-time staff.

Ø  Professional appearance and demeanor when dealing with guests and vendors.

Ø  Experience working with fine wine and food in a customer service focused environment – proven customer service skills is a must.

Ø  Sound general wine knowledge with a commitment to excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for the wines served in our wine bar and tasting room.

Ø  Highly motivated, hospitality- and sales-driven with an outstanding work ethic.

Ø  Experience in making weekly schedules for restaurant staff.

Ø  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to encourage, motivate and inspire others.  Works well with others at all levels and departments.

Ø  Ability to handle difficult situations, give feedback, coach, find creative solutions and take accountability.

Ø  Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ø  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Must be goal-oriented and results-driven with good attention to detail.

Ø  A respectful team player that leads in creating a positive work experience.

Ø  Must have excellent computer skills including Excel and Word. A plus to know RMS, Aloha and PowerPoint.

Ø  College Diploma in a business or hospitality related field.

Ø  Commitment to follow all Company procedures and policies.

Ø  21 years of age or older with a valid CDL.

Ø  ServSafe Food Handlers and Alcohol Training Certified

Ø  Support and model all company procedures and policies
