JOB SUMMARY
The Tour and Tasting Events Coordinator is an assistant leadership role primarily responsible for the day to day activities of the tasting room, Club 1883, lawn area, private Reservations, and Tours and tasting room employees. Responsible for providing assistance to Tasting Room Manager and Supervisor. Additionally, the Tour and Tasting Events Coordinator is responsible for ensuring safe work practices and good customer service skills are being executed by tasting room employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Greets all visitors and pours wine for tasting
- Assists Tour and Tasting Supervisor in overseeing activities of Estate Tour and Tasting activities and Reservations Assist customers entering and leaving the facility
- Promotes the sale of wine and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room
- Describes wines, winemaking techniques, winery history and provides general tourist information
- Conducts guided tours
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Handles routine purchase transactions, which includes operation a cash register and accounting of daily sales and bank deposits
- Acts as a customer service representative handling customer complaints and returns
- May be responsible for scheduling, training, supervising Tasting Room Staff, and wine club events
- Acts as Manager on Duty when needed
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, follow-up and work in a fast pace environment under pressure
- Must be available to work most weekends, special events and holidays
- Two to five years of experience in retail sales, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Fundamental wine knowledge
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have a valid CDL
- Portray professionalism when dealing with guests or vendors
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Comprehend and carry out written and verbal orders
- Work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Must have ability to be ServSafe certified
- Excellent organizational & interpersonal skills with attention to detail
- Must have passion for wine
- Experience with POS System a plus
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry weights of up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies
- Ability to operate various types of machinery to include, but not limited to, lift trucks, hand trucks, etc.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
